Happy Happy Birthday Colby!

So today is Colby's 10th B-day! I can't believe he has gone from that to a ten year old smarty pants!! Wow how time fly's. Colby is such a smart, athletic and talented boy. We have been celebrating all weekend, we started Saturday with a spectacular party! He had 11 crazy boys over and I knew that I didn't want them in my house the whole time so we planned an Amazing Race Party for them. For those of you who don't watch the show, you should. We here at the boyce home love it. Anyway they split up into 3 groups and headed off to do 8 different tasks, after finishing each one they would receive the next clue to go do the next. It was so much fun to watch. They did some things like, Go to smiths, get shopping list from customer Service counter and purchase 3 specific things. 2. Go to Village Pizza and sing and do the actions to "I'm a little Tea Pot", 3. Make a poster at the Chevron that says Honk its my birthday and get 10 cars to honk at you. The list went on but it was hilarious and I think all the boy's had a pretty good time! Sunday he celebrated with his mom and Kip and there fam. Grandpa Boyce came Sunday night and we took the kids out of school to go to the Draper Temple open house today. What a beautiful Temple. I hope my kids realize the importance of Temples and the blessings that come from there. I did get a little nervous when we were walking through and Colby said wouldn't it be fun to run do a cannon ball in the baptismal font. I laughed and had a forward glimpse of when he is in Young Men's, Yikes! Happy birthday Colby we love you and can't wait to continue watching you grow into a great young man! Here are a few pic's from the party and happenings of the weekend.
Oh ya and I forgot to post about our exciting Super Bowl party. Any guess who we were cheering for? Laren has been a Steelers Fan since he was a little boy, He is a fan true and true, I am just glad they won otherwise it would have been a sad day at our house!

The secret password is???

So we had a great family night the other night! We told the kids we had a secret message they had to put together. I had a bunch of words cut up , in side 10 different balloons. They had to pop them and put the sentence together to find out the secret. They were so funny and had a great time. They had some trouble getting the sentence together, but this is what it said.......

They read it over and over, Colby got it and just smiled, rylee is a little slower to get it, she first unscrambled it to say your brother having a baby....."What colby's having a baby" she screamed! No, then we unscrambled it again and Colby read it out loud. I said, that means....YOUR Pregnant colby said with a huge smile. Rylee looked at me and yelled you are and I think it finally clicked with her! So yes we are having a baby! We will have the yours, mine and finally ours, but all in all we consider ourselves ONE lucky little family. I know its early but Laren couldn't wait to tell everyone, so we had to let the secret out. I am due Sept 1st. I feel great but am not looking forward to a long, hot, pregnant summer! I will keep you all updated and let you know as soon as we know the flavor!

A good day on the slopes!

Colby started skiing last year with his mom and step dad. He as done quite a few lessons and said he was really good, to good for just the bunny hill. So I finally dusted off my ski's and boots and went with him. Actually it was my mom's idea to take the kids to the free bunny hill at Sundance. So she and Ali took Rylee and Tate on the bunny hill and Kade, Colby and I went skiing for the day! It was cold but so much fun. I forget every year how much I love skiing. It is so fun and so much more fun to watch your kids enjoy it and do well at it. Colby kept right up with us. We might have held kade back just a little but he was a good coach for colby as well. Anyway way to go Colbs, you did awesome!
Thanks Mom and Ali for working with Rylee and Tate, I definitely got the better end of the deal on that one! Rylee you did so great , she looked at me one time and said man this is hard work and that was just after getting one boot on :) Then again to nana after holding onto the tow rope. Little kids look so cute all bundled up in there ski stuff maybe I make them do it purely for selfish reasons. I just want to squeeze them. Anyway Thanks nana for the wonderful day and way to go kids, I hope we can have many fun memorable days on the slopes!

I thought Christmas Break meant more of a Break!

We had the most wonderful Holiday Season I can't believe it has come and gone so quick. Christmas Break should be more of a Break and not so busy, oh well I guess I like it that way. I would like to tell everyone how grateful I am for Family and Friends and for my health, my families health and the gospel. I tried to have my kids keep the true meaning of christmas in there minds and bring it close to there hearts this year. We were able to do some things for others this year and I think that the kids really enjoyed giving almost as much as getting this year. I hope to make that a tradition, it was such a good feeling.
My whole extended family stayed at my mom and dads for Christmas this year, it was crowded but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love when we can all be together especially on Christmas. We went sledding skiing, played games and ate a lot! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season and sorry I didn't get cards out this year, but from my family to yours " Happy Hollidays and a Happy New Year!"
Here are some pictures of the holiday happenings!

Did Martha Stewart come to town??

This past Sunday I decided to put together a little Thanksgiving feast of our own. Both our kids are not going to be with us this year for the holiday and so I wanted to share that with them still. Any excuse to make food and have the family together really. So I was excited to cook my very first Thanksgiving meal. I must say I would have been happy to have Martha Stewart stop by and stay for dinner. It turned out great! With the help of some great cooks themselves my mom and sister did there share of wonderful dishes as well. The kids made turkey hats and everyone ate and ate and ate........then we ate some more of kades yummy pumpkin cake. Yes you heard me and I am sad I don't have the pictures to prove it but after dinner kade whipped up a fabulous cake. Ladies he should no longer be on the market, he is one of a kind. Anyway for all of you that are cooking thanksgiving dinner, good luck and my hats off to you all, it is a lot of work but it tastes so good!
Happy Thanksgiving!
